Die World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) bietet in Kooperation mit Ausstatter Asics für einen begrenzten Zeitraum die offiziellen Jerseys und Caps des historischem Debüts von Team Europa zum Verkauf an. Das Cap kostet 30 Euro. Das Jersey kostet 125 Euro inklusive Rückennummer und Flagge auf dem Ärmel. Bestellungen müssen bis zum 15. April per E-Mail unter office[at]ibaf.org eingehen, die Bezahlung (via Überweisung oder Paypal) bis zum 20. April erfolgen. Als Produktions- und Versandzeitraum werden 8 Wochen angegeben.

Die Europaauswahl wurde im Februar erstmalig zusammengestellt und spielte im März zwei Freundsschaftsspiele gegen den mit NPB-Profis gespickten Weltranglistenersten Japan im Tokyo Dome. Spiel eins ging knapp mit 3:4 verloren, doch in der zweiten Partie folgte die Sensation mit einem 6:2-Erfolg. Mit dabei waren aus der 1. Baseball-Bundesliga auch die Nationalspieler Jan-Niclas Stöcklin und Luke Sommer (mit Einsatz als Reliever beim Sieg) sowie Pitching Coach Martin Brunner und der Niederländer Mike Bolsenbroek.
